A look at some of my work.
I am a professional editor specializing in non-fiction, working with self-publishing authors, and helping non-profit organizations. I also edit fiction, online articles, and websites. I offer structural editing, stylistic editing, copy editing, proofreading, web editing, and formatting services.
I am a landscape, portrait, street, and travel photographer. Prints and products are available at my Society6 page or upon request. I am available for projects remotely or in person. Follow me on Instagram: @deegydallong.
I write poetry and articles addressing daily life, nature, social justice, spirituality, and travel. I am able to tailor my writing for your audience and needs. I’m currently working on a series of haiku/photo books based on past travels.
From The Blog
An editor's perspective.
Each season, I want to share my discoveries with you in the fine arts, film, food, literature, music, photography, and travel. And, in turn, I hope you’ll let me know what you discover each season too! This past summer I was grateful to have traveled throughout Asia and back home to Canada for a month […]
“I consider myself a rookie when it comes to writing. Getting words on paper isn’t an issue for me but putting everything together in a way that’s concise, easy to follow, and engaging for the audience I’m trying to reach is where I struggle. Working with Deegy eliminated those problems for me. At the time he began working on my project he was overseas. Despite the distance between us, I was impressed by his communication and how he walked me through the editing process from start to finish. His professionalism and skill set is hard to find these days. Without a doubt, I’ll be using his services again in the near future and highly recommend the same for any aspiring writers out there.”

“Deegy is an all-around editor whose experience and professionalism is shown in the quality of his work. He helped me—not just to correct the grammar and tenses in my manuscript, but by giving me feedback on tone and flow. He asked questions and always answered mine. He created a style sheet for consistency and helped me to make an appendix with links. He also made sure that all of the citations in my manuscript were done properly, along with a bibliography. In general, he helped me to transform my work into a polished piece. I could not have been happier with the work he provided. I would hire him again in an instant, and I look forward to working with him on my next project.”

“I am very happy with the edits Deegy did on my book. He changed the tone and energy of much of the content in a way that was fitting, compelling, and healthier than before. He made helpful observations and suggestions that made the book better and that were much needed to reshape the book so the readers didn’t get lost. I am very thankful he did the edits for me.”René Lafaut, MSc.
