A Diverse Clientele
Living in Canada most of my life, I’ve always had an opportunity to work with a diverse group of people, and in our travels and working remotely, I’m happy to have continued to do so. This past year I’ve collaborated with authors, publishers and writers from Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Mexico, Singapore, and the US.
In my last job in social services I worked with many folks from the UK and Ireland, and this past summer, I had a chance to rekindle these ties with a proofread I did for a UK publishing company called White Crow Books and an Irish author and journalist, Karen Frances McCarthy
“Deegy was a pleasure to work with. (He) did a good job in the time specified. I would be happy to work with him again.”
Testimonial from author and publisher, Jonathan Beecher of White Crow Books.
Proofread for a Non-Fiction Book
I conducted a proofread for her book Till Death Don’t Us Part: A True Story of Awakening to Love After Life. and provided a style sheet for consistency of punctuation, spelling, and writing style, following the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition), and the Merriam-Webster’s dictionary (US spelling).
It’s a book I wouldn’t normally read, but it was a surprisingly engrossing story—a memoir dealing with love, grief, healing, and spirituality. It’s very personal, approachable, and touching—and an intersting perspective from a skeptical journalist’s point of view on death and phenomena she experiences.
